The Why in 1228

What inspired you to start Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness, and how did you develop your focus on both regenerative and aesthetic medicine?

My inspiration for starting Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness came from my long-standing passion for helping patients not only look their best but feel their best, inside and out. I’ve always believed that the future of medicine lies in the integration of aesthetic treatments with regenerative therapies that promote healing at a cellular level. My journey in aesthetic medicine began with fat transfers, and from there, I expanded into regenerative treatments like PRF and stem cell therapies, always keeping patient wellness at the forefront. Our goal at Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness is to provide a holistic approach, combining advanced aesthetics with therapies that support long-term health and vitality .

How did you navigate the challenges of building and scaling your practice?

Building Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness has been an exciting but challenging journey. One of the key challenges was ensuring that we stayed compliant with medical regulations while offering cutting-edge treatments, many of which were off-label or emerging therapies. Working closely with IRB protocols through the Cell Surgical Network, I collaborated with medical experts like Sean Berman, Dr. Elliot Lander, and Dr. Ray Bennett to ensure our procedures were both safe and effective. My prior experience as an aesthetic consultant for several large hedge funds , prepared me to scale the practice including but not linited to strategic hiring, developing detailed protocols, and maintaining a balance between providing personalized care and managing the business side, such as staffing and marketing .

What differentiates Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness from other aesthetic and regenerative medical practices?

What sets Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness apart is our comprehensive approach that blends regenerative medicine with advanced aesthetics. We not only offer treatments like PRF, PDO threads, and hyaluronic acid fillers, but we also focus on cellular health and anti-aging protocols. From day one at the initial consult, we educate the patient on optimizing his or her health. We also educate our patients on the aging process and why it is important to execute a game plan to not only restore the skin but also to prevent the aging of the skin. Our signature offering, The 1228 Protocol™, is a prime example of this. It’s a multi-layered approach that combines regenerative therapies with aesthetic treatments to achieve both immediate and long-lasting results. We don’t just focus on the external appearance but on overall wellness, ensuring that our patients feel rejuvenated from the inside out . When the patient visits our practice every 28 days for 12 months, we become so much more than an aesthetic and regenerative center. We become advocates and a center for healing.

Can you explain the science behind some of your signature treatments, such as PRF injections or PDO threads, and how they benefit your patients?

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) injections use the patient’s own blood to create a fibrin matrix rich in platelets and growth factors, which promotes healing and regeneration. This is an evolution of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) but with higher concentrations of growth factors and no additives, making it more natural and effective for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. PDO threads are another innovative treatment we offer, using dissolvable threads to lift and tighten the skin, stimulating collagen production for long-lasting results. Both treatments are minimally invasive and promote natural regeneration, giving patients a more youthful appearance without extensive downtime.

How do you stay current with advancements in both aesthetic and regenerative medicine?

Staying current in such a fast-evolving field requires ongoing education and collaboration with other experts. I regularly attend and often teach at conferences like the Global Aesthetic Conference and the Aesthetic Innovation Summit, where the latest technologies and techniques are introduced. I am faculty for Boston Biolife. I also partner with leading research institutions and networks, such as the Cell Surgical Network, to ensure that our practice is at the forefront of regenerative medicine. Continuing education and collaboration with other industry experts is key to staying informed and delivering the best outcomes for my patients.

How do you ensure the safety and efficacy of the treatments you provide, particularly when integrating new or off-label procedures?

Safety is our top priority at Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness. We follow strict protocols and adhere to IRB guidelines to ensure that every treatment is performed safely and effectively. For new or off-label procedures, such as certain uses of PRF or autologous cell therapies, we ensure that patients are fully informed through detailed consent forms, and we continually monitor outcomes through follow-ups and data collection. Collaboration with supervising physicians and industry experts helps maintain high standards of safety and efficacy.

What is your approach to educating patients about regenerative medicine and how it can complement aesthetic treatments?

Education is a crucial part of what we do at Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness. We believe in empowering patients with knowledge so they can make informed decisions. During consultations, we take the time to explain not only the aesthetic benefits of treatments but also how regenerative medicine can improve long-term outcomes. For example, while PDO threads offer immediate lifting effects, combining them with PRF enhances skin regeneration over time, resulting in a more natural and lasting improvement. We also partner with Skin Type Solutions, a customized advanced skin care technology, where patients may purchase skin care products that are customizable to his / her specific skin type ( there are 16 skin types) This company offers affordable products and drop ships these products to the patients. We also use before-and-after visuals, detailed explanations, and ongoing support to ensure patients understand and feel comfortable with their treatment plans . Finally, we offer training classes along with educational opportunities for our patients and fellow medical providers.

What role does branding and marketing play in attracting and retaining your clientele?

Branding and marketing play a vital role in positioning Twelve Twenty Eight Wellness as a leader in both aesthetic and regenerative medicine. Our branding emphasizes a high level of trust, expertise, and personalized care, which is critical in attracting clients who are looking for more than just cosmetic treatments. Words of mouth is our best marketing tool. When patients understand the why they are more compliant, they see better results and want to share these results with their friends and family. We also have developed a 12-month marketing plan that focuses on educating our audience through content marketing, social media, and patient testimonials, which helps build credibility and loyalty. Our goal is not only to attract new patients but to retain them by delivering exceptional results and experiences.

As a business leader in both aesthetics and regenerative medicine, how do you manage your team and ensure a high standard of patient care?

Managing a high-performing team requires a balance of leadership, ongoing training, and fostering a collaborative environment. We provide our staff with continuous education on the latest techniques and protocols, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver high-quality care. I also emphasize communication and patient-centered care, making sure that each team member understands the unique needs of our patients. We hold regular meetings to review cases, discuss outcomes, and refine our approach to treatments, ensuring that we consistently provide safe, effective, and personalized care.

What trends do you see shaping the future of aesthetic and regenerative medicine?

The future of aesthetic and regenerative medicine is incredibly exciting. I see a continued shift towards minimally invasive procedures that offer both immediate and long-term benefits. The integration of stem cell therapies with aesthetics, like using fat-derived stem cells in combination with PRF or PDO threads, is a game-changer. Additionally, advancements in personalized medicine, where treatments are tailored to the individual’s genetic makeup or biological profile, will play a significant role. Oncology aesthetics will be a game changer for those going through chemotherapy and radiation. Finally, I believe we will see more holistic approaches that combine aesthetics with wellness, focusing on overall health, vitality, and aging well.
