Basic Life Support (for Healthcare Providers)

This course is intended for healthcare providers such as Nurses, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Pharmacists, Occupational Therapists, Physicians/Residents, Certified Nursing Assistants, Clinical Technicians, and students in any medical field. This certification is often a requirement for professional licensure or employment. There are no prerequisites for taking this class. Options for obtaining your AHA BLS certification are below:

1) For first time students or students with an expired card, you should register for the “BLS (Basic Life Support) – for Healthcare Providers ($55)” course on our scheduling page. There is no pre-course work for this course – everything will be covered in the class.

2) Students who have a CURRENT (not expired) AHA BLS card should register for the renewal course for a discount “BLS (Basic Life Support) – for Healthcare Providers RENEWAL ($50). You are required to EMAIL(hard copies not accepted) a copy of your current card prior to arrival. Cards from other organizations are not accepted (the only exception is the MTN (Military Training Network) cards). There is no grace period for expired cards.

3) Students who wish to complete the course online can visit onlineaha.org and purchase the “BLS Heartcode” option. During the online course, you will watch the videos and complete the exam online, however, are required to come in person to demonstrate your skills prior to receiving your card. This option is not recommended for first time students or inexperienced healthcare providers. The correct option for registering for this class is the “BLS – Skills Check ONLY ($50)” option. You MUST e-mail your completion certificate to joni@twelvetwentyeightwellness.com prior to course start time. Please DO NOT wait until you arrive to send it.

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult VF/VT arrest. Because the ACLS course covers extensive material in a short time, you do need to prepare for the course beforehand. The ACLS course does not teach ECG rhythm recognition or pharmacology. ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, airway management, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. This course is intended for students working or planning to work in an acute care adult environment. Options for obtaining an AHA ACLS Certification are below:

**Note:A current AHA BLS card and completion of the online pre-test is required to take this course. Instructions for completing the pre-test will be emailing immediately following registration**

1) For first time students or students with an expired card, you should register for the “ACLS Provider Course ($180)” course on our scheduling page. This course requires a current AHA BLS card and completion of the pre-test. Complete pre-course instructions will be emailed following registration for class. If you do not have a current AHA BLS card or need to renew, please register for the ACLS Provider/BLS Combination course to complete both on the same day. You are required to EMAIL(hard copies not accepted) a copy of your current AHA BLS card prior to arrival if you are not completing BLS with us on the same day along with the results of your pre-test. Cards from other organizations are not accepted (the only exception is the MTN (Military Training Network) cards). There is no grace period for expired cards.

2) Students who have a CURRENT (not expired) AHA ACLS card should register for the “ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Renewal ($130). This course requires a current AHA BLS & ACLS card and completion of the pre-test. Complete pre-course instructions will be emailed following registration for class. You are required to EMAIL(hard copies not accepted) a copy of your current AHA BLS & ACLS cards prior to arrival along with the results of your pre-test. Cards from other organizations are not accepted (the only exception is the MTN (Military Training Network) cards). 3) Students who wish to complete the course online can visit onlineaha.org and purchase the “ACLS Heartcode” option. You MUST e-mail your completion certificate to joni@twelvetwentyeightwellness.com prior to course start time. Please DO NOT wait until you arrive to send it.
